BAGAMOYO-OUTREACH 2024

On September 13-14, 2024, Ndovu Specialised Dental Clinic, in collaboration with Tanzania Health Opportunitie Opportunities (THO) and Optical Center Specialist, organized a successful two-day medical camp in Bagamoyo District. The event aimed to provide free healthcare services to underserved communities, focusing on oral health, general health screenings, and treatments.

The camp was inaugurated by the Bagamoyo District Commissioner, represented by Hon. Magid Mgima. His presence highlighted the importance of ensuring accessible healthcare for all Tanzanians, especially in rural areas where specialized services are often out of reach.

Over 847 people attended the event, with 311 individuals receiving oral health education and screening. Of these, 57 patients were treated for various dental issues in collaboration with Bagamoyo District Hospital. Some individuals were referred to specialized hospitals for further investigation and treatment, including cases involving suspected dental tumors.

Dr. Bernard Phillemon Yohana, Managing Director of Ndovu Specialised Dental Clinic, expressed his gratitude to the leadership of Bagamoyo District Hospital for their support in making this important health camp possible. He also thanked the government for its ongoing efforts to improve the healthcare system in Tanzania.

Dr. Yohana noted the pressing oral health challenges faced by many Tanzanians, particularly tooth decay, gum disease, missing teeth, and oral cancer. He emphasized the need for greater awareness and preventive care to reduce these issues, which continue to affect vulnerable communities.

“We remain committed to reaching more people through our outreach programs,” Dr. Yohana stated. “With the continued support of our partners and the government, we can ensure that even those in the most remote areas have access to specialized dental care.”

Ndovu Specialised Dental Clinic extends its sincere appreciation to all partners involved in this initiative, including Bagamoyo District Hospital and the community for their participation. The clinic looks forward to future collaborations aimed at improving the health and well-being of all Tanzanians.

GOBA health center-OUTREACH 2024

From September 2nd to September 6th, 2024, Ndovu Specialised Dental Clinic partnered with Goba Health Center under the Ubungo Municipality in celebration of Customer Service Week. The event was officially opened by the Honorable Esther Ndoha, Councilor for Goba Ward, alongside Dr. Tulitweni Mwinuka, Chief Medical Officer of Ubungo Municipality.During this week, community members received free health screenings, while Ndovu Specialized Dental Clinic provided complimentary oral health check-ups and education on dental care. Our clinic remains committed to supporting the government’s efforts to promote a culture of early health screenings and timely treatments, ensuring that every Tanzanian enjoys a healthy and vibrant life.

AFYA CHECK KIGAMBONI 2024

Ndovu Specialized Dental Clinic participated in a community service event held at the Kawe grounds, organized by the Office of the Regional Commissioner of Dar es Salaam, Hon. Albert John Chalamila. Various government institutions provided services and listened to the citizens' concerns. Ndovu Specialized Dental Clinic offered oral health education and screening services, reaching and serving over 100 people.

AFYA CHECK TEMEKE 2024

On June 26-27, 2024, Ndovu Specialised Dental Clinic, in collaboration with AfyaCheck and various government and non-governmental organizations, conducted a successful outreach program in Temeke Municipality, at Zakhiem grounds in Mbagala. This area, home to over 1.3 million people, faces significant challenges in accessing specialized healthcare services due to economic limitations. The initiative, aimed at providing free healthcare services, was launched in collaboration with various stakeholders to address these pressing needs.

The event was inaugurated by Hon. Sixtus Mapunda, the District Commissioner of Temeke, whose support highlighted the importance of such programs in improving community health. Over 2,536 individuals attended, with more than 744 receiving specialized oral health services from Ndovu Specialised Dental Clinic. Dr. Bernard Phillemon Yohana, the Managing Director of the clinic, emphasized the high prevalence of tooth decay and gum diseases in Tanzania, particularly among populations with limited access to dental care.

He noted, "Many Tanzanians are unaware of proper oral hygiene practices and believe that dental issues can only be treated by tooth extraction. There’s a pressing need for greater education and accessibility to preventive and specialized dental care."

Dr. Yohana also called upon the government, NGOs, and other institutions to support initiatives like these, enabling them to reach more underserved communities and ensure continuity in delivering essential health services. The large turnout in Temeke reflects the community’s need for accessible healthcare, and Ndovu Specialised Dental Clinic remains committed to bridging this gap.

AFYA CHECK ILALA 2024

On June 24-25, 2024, Ndovu Specialised Dental Clinic, in collaboration with AfyaCheck and various government and non-governmental organizations, participated in a two-day medical camp in Ilala, Dar es Salaam. The camp brought together specialists from different fields, supported by specialised hospitals and clinics, to provide free healthcare services to the community.

The event was graced by Hon. Edward Jonas Mpogolo, whose presence highlighted the significance of the initiative and demonstrated the government’s commitment to improving access to healthcare services. The camp attracted over 1,468 individuals, with more than 580 receiving specialised oral health services from Ndovu Specialised Dental Clinic. Ilala, located in the heart of Dar es Salaam's commercial district, witnessed a large turnout, highlighting the critical need for such services, especially for those facing financial challenges.

This medical camp played a vital role in promoting early detection and treatment of various health issues, ensuring that people can take better care of their well-being. We extend our gratitude to the government, and all the organizations involved in making this initiative a success. We also call upon the government, institutions, and NGOs to continue supporting such efforts to expand these services to more underserved communities.

AFYA CHECK KINONDONI 2024

On June 22-23, 2024, Ndovu Specialised Dental Clinic, in partnership with AfyaCheck and various governmental and non-governmental organizations, successfully conducted an outreach program at Biafra grounds in Kinondoni Municipality. The event aimed to address the healthcare needs of this densely populated area, where access to specialized services is often limited due to economic challenges.

The program was inaugurated by Hon. Stella Msofe, the District Administrative Secretary (DAS) of Kinondoni, whose presence underscored the significance of community health initiatives. A total of 1,165 people attended the event, with more than 623 individuals receiving specialized oral health services provided by Ndovu Specialised Dental Clinic.

Dr. Bernard Phillemon Yohana, Managing Director of the clinic, highlighted the high incidence of dental issues in Tanzania, particularly in underserved areas where oral hygiene awareness is low. “Many people believe that tooth extraction is the only solution for dental problems,” Dr. Yohana stated. “Our goal is to educate communities on the importance of preventive care and offer specialized treatments to reduce the prevalence of dental diseases.”

Dr. Yohana called for continued support from the government, NGOs, and other organizations to ensure the sustainability of these programs, reaching more communities in need. The positive response from Kinondoni residents emphasizes the critical demand for accessible healthcare services, and Ndovu Specialised Dental Clinic is dedicated to closing this gap.

Chakuwama Orphanage Center-sinza Jun 2024

On June 19, 2024, Ndovu Specialised Dental Clinic, in collaboration with Tanzania Health Opportunities (T.H.O.) and Optical Centre Specialist Eye Clinic, conducted a comprehensive screening program at Chakuwama Orphanage Center in Sinza Mori. The initiative aimed to provide medical care and raise health awareness among children and staff. Screening focused on malaria, UTI, dental, and vision issues, addressing prevalent health challenges in the community. The program included medical assessments, dental check-ups, and vision tests, aiming to improve overall community health.

Tegeta Kibo Complex Outreach

In May 2024 Ndovu Specialised Dental Clinic, in collaboration with Optical Eye Center Specialist, conducted a community outreach program at Tegeta Kibo Complex to provide free screenings for oral health conditions, oral health education, and eye examinations. This initiative aimed to promote early detection and education on oral and eye health, ensuring community members have access to essential healthcare services without financial barriers.

Outreach at K Net House, Kinondoni

Ndovu Specialised Dental Clinic, in collaboration with Optical Eye Center Specialist, organized an outreach at K Net House in the Kinondoni district of Kawe, Dar es Salaam. Residents received free oral health screenings, education on oral health, and free eye exams. This initiative aimed to reach community members who are unable to visit hospitals for oral and eye health check-ups, either due to financial constraints or lack of time. Ndovu provided these services in partnership with volunteers and staff from Ndovu Specialised Dental Clinic.

Outreach at Samaritan Primary School Orphanage

Ndovu Specialised Dental Clinic, in collaboration with Tanzania Health Opportunities and Optical Eye Center Specialist Eye Clinic, organized an outreach to serve orphans at Samaritan Primary School in Chamazi, Temeke District, Dar es Salaam. Children, along with some parents and teachers, were screened for non-communicable diseases, malaria, eye conditions, and oral health issues. Ndovu Specialised Dental Clinic provided oral health education and screenings, followed by free treatments for children identified with dental needs. These children were brought to Ndovu Dental Clinic in Sinza Madukani for free treatment. Many children had issues such as tooth decay and gum diseases, and they received treatments including fillings, cleanings, and extractions at no cost.

Outreach at Kichangani Mosque, Magomeni

Ndovu Specialised Dental Clinic, in collaboration with Tanzania Health Opportunities (THO) and Optical Eye Center Specialist, organized an outreach at Kichangani Mosque in Magomeni, Kinondoni district. The event provided screenings for non-communicable diseases, eye exams, and education and screenings for oral health. Volunteers, along with staff from Ndovu Specialised Dental Clinic, delivered these free health services and oral health education at the mosque.

Orphan Children's Bonanza at Jakaya Kikwete Youth Park

on 23 December 2024 Ndovu Specialised Dental Clinic, in collaboration with Tanzania Health Opportunities (THO) and Hope Child Foundation, organized a bonanza for orphaned children from the Dar es Salaam region at Jakaya Kikwete Youth Park. The event featured children's games, Christmas gifts, and free oral health screenings. Volunteers and staff from Ndovu Specialized Dental Clinic provided these free oral health screenings to the children.

Outreach at Biafra Grounds, Kinondoni

Ndovu Specialised Dental Clinic, in collaboration with Kinondoni Municipality, conducted an outreach program to provide free oral health education and screenings to the residents of Kinondoni at Biafra Grounds. These services were delivered by volunteers and staff from Ndovu Specialised Dental Clinic to ensure that every citizen receives accurate information about oral health and can make informed decisions for early treatment, avoiding severe conditions and high medical costs. This initiative also supports the government's efforts to ensure that every Tanzanian maintains good oral health.

Msasani Jogging Bonanza

In October 2023 Ndovu Specialised Dental Clinic participated in the Msasani Jogging Bonanza organized by Clouds Media Group. Participants had the opportunity to receive free dental check-ups and oral health education. This initiative reflects Ndovu Specialised Dental Clinic's commitment to promoting health and wellness, ensuring early awareness and treatment of dental conditions for everyone.

World Elderly Day 2024 at Mwananyamala

Ndovu Specialised Dental Clinic, in collaboration with Kinondoni Municipality, participated in World Elderly Day 2024, where various free health screenings were conducted for the elderly at Mwananyamala in Kinondoni district. Ndovu Specialised Dental Clinic, along with volunteers, provided free oral health education and screenings for the elderly. Caring for the elderly is vital in our Tanzanian society. The government's efforts to ensure that the elderly receive free and affordable healthcare are commendable. Ndovu Specialised Dental Clinic supports these initiatives by offering high-quality services to the elderly, ensuring they maintain good health and well-being.

Free Oral Health Education and Screening at St. Albans Church

Ndovu Specialised Dental Clinic provided free oral health education and screenings at St. Albans Church. Believers who attended were offered these services at no cost. This initiative aims to ensure that alongside a strong spiritual foundation, worshippers also maintain good oral health. Volunteers and staff from Ndovu Specialized Dental Clinic conducted these services.

Mbweni Medical Camp

Ndovu Specialised Dental Clinic, in collaboration with Stemm, Tanzania Health Opportunities (THO), and Agarwals Eye Hospital, organized and participated in a health camp providing screenings for non-communicable diseases, eye care, oral health education, and screenings. Volunteers and staff from Ndovu Specialised Dental Clinic offered these services free of charge to the residents of Mbweni in Kinondoni district. These services benefitted people by detecting oral health issues early and providing them with proper education on oral care. The event was inaugurated by the District Administrative Secretary (DAS) of Kinondoni, Mrs. Stella Msofe, who commended the ongoing contribution towards providing excellent healthcare services to Tanzanian citizens. She emphasized the importance of regular health check-ups for maintaining good health.

Participation in Salasala Hills Runners
Club Anniversary

Ndovu Specialised Dental Clinic participated in the anniversary celebration of the Salasala Hills Runners Club, providing oral health education and screenings. Volunteers and staff from Ndovu Specialised Dental Clinic offered these free services to attendees at Salasala Grounds in Kinondoni district. This initiative emphasizes the importance of overall health, combining physical exercise with maintaining good oral hygiene. By promoting both physical fitness and oral health, we aim to ensure the community achieves comprehensive well-being.
